When you help tear something down, you must help build it back up again

At the EDEN Day Care Center, for technical reasons, it was necessary to remove the existing pergola where clients with mental and combined disabilities loved to meet and spend their time. Our employees playfully managed its dismantling within two hours.

But taking such a place away from the clients and just leaving was out of the question. And so came the second task – to build a new year-round tent. Time was pressing, but we hammered in the last stake exactly on time, and by the afternoon, the clients could already make full use of the new shelter. The greatest reward for us was the joy of the center's employees, who would have found it difficult to find the necessary capacity for such an event on their own.

Meanwhile, other volunteers headed to the ARCHA Sheltered Housing, where they helped with washing windows and doors. They also brought new sets of pots to make living there a little better for its clients.

And our help did not end there! A representative of the PR department also presented Slezská Diakonie with a financial donation of CZK 20,000 to support its further activities.

We thank all the employees who decided to dedicate their time and energy to others as part of our Mental Health Week. And a big thank you also goes to Slezská Diakonie for the great welcome, facilities, and beautiful gifts handmade by its clients.
